Calvados
Type design

The project freely explores the possibilities of shaping individual letters and is not limited by solutions imposed by traditional tools. The work consists of two types of typefaces. The first is a display typeface, bold and with characteristic breaks, evoking the Gothic aesthetic, intended for headings. The second is a body typeface, serving a complementary role, more conservative, available in a few weight variants, dedicated to longer texts. Both the display typeface and the two versions of the body typeface, although different, share many common features and can be successfully used together in a single document.

Calvados typeface project was recently selected as one of 30 best design diplomas among universities from Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary and will be displayed at the "Graduation Projects" exhibition which will take place in 2025 in Cieszyn.
