The website project, created as part of a graphic interface design course at my university in 2022, draws inspiration from vintage atlases and encyclopedias. It is designed to evoke the sense of discovery and research, immersing users in the study of plants found in the dendrological garden of the Poznań University of Life Sciences.
The visual identity of the site is deeply rooted in nostalgia. The color palette mimics the hues of aged paper, while historical photographs enhance the atmosphere, transporting users to a bygone era.
The typography, carefully selected, reflects the timeless heritage of botanical exploration, reinforcing the connection to the garden’s rich history.Illustrations sourced from natural archives and antique atlases lend authenticity to the project, making it both informative and aesthetically evocative. Subtle animations are integrated to create a serene experience, reminiscent of the tranquility found in a garden, aligning perfectly with the theme of peaceful exploration.
This project bridges the past and present, transforming the act of browsing into a meditative journey through botanical history.
